We are gathering at an honest-to-goodness Italian family dinner, complete with long tables, set end to end, covered in tablecloths and laid out for our very first La Polenta dinner. Grab your moms, dads, kids, aunts, uncles, and nonni and drive to Club Paesano Cedarville Park on Wednesday, June 7th. The park is located at 3800 W. Powell Loop in Gresham (just east of SE 182nd and Powell Blvd). Arrive at 6:00pm to help set up; dinner will be on the table at 7:30pm; we will all clear the table and clean up about 8:30pm. Your only cost is to bring one bottle of wine! The dinner will be homemade polenta with meat sauce (vegetarian option available) served family-style on large platters in the center of the table, Parmigiano on the side, Caesar salad, and fresh bread, followed by your choice of chocolate or rum cake for dessert. There will be non-alcoholic beverages for the bambini. Coffee and water will be available too. A simple meal, shared by friends and family. The Amici d’Italia, Club Paesano, and the Portland-Bologna Sister City Association have teamed up to present this “Italian family” event. This is an evening with no agenda, simply a time for la famiglia Italiana to sit together around a communal table. And just like any Italian family dinner, everyone will help set up, serve, and clean up.

It’s time once again: time for our annual Youth Exchange fundraiser, the PBSCA Sagra.

Well, we’re not in Italy, but we can offer you its spirit, and an occasion to meet new and old friends, learn more about our sister city Bologna, dance, dine and imbibe, bid for tempting auction items while supporting the youth exchange between our two cities that we sponsor every year. This year our Sagra takes place in the new Lagunitas Brewing Company community space for non-profits. Come join us. Enter a raffle and bid for special offers. Restaurant gift certificates, fishing on the Willamette, premium Oregon wines, mountain cabin getaway... the list is better than ever! Tickets are $60/person or $55/person for two or more. Join us at Velo Cult to celebrate the cycling connections between Bologna and Portland. Four cyclists from the Po River Delta have chosen Portland as their starting point for a 1400 km ride to San Francisco with the aim of building friendship and promoting cycling throughout the world. Our sister city of Bologna has asked us to welcome them and share Portland's bike culture with them. What better place than Velo Cult? Event is free, casual, no host bar and snacks. Come raise a glass to the bicycle as a vehicle of friendship, peace and sustainability!
