How does it work?

Buy a ticket to PBSCA’s Sip & Share wine tasting. On the big day, bring a special bottle of wine to share in a one-of-a-kind tasting hosted by wine pros at the Oregon Wine Reserve in Lake Oswego. Think of it as the greatest potluck ever — plus, all proceeds go to support PBSCA’s mission.

Wait, I have to bring wine?

Yes! One bottle per person. Sharing is part of the fun!

What kinds of wine will be there?

Part of what makes this event so fun is that it will be a surprise. There will be red, white, sparkling, and perhaps even sweet wines to sample, likely from all over the world. There’s sure to be wines you love, and you might even discover a new favorite.

Do I have to know a ton about wine to have a good time?

Not at all! We’ll have wine pros on hand to answer any questions you might have, but there’s no pressure to delve into the specifics of this vintage versus that one, or do anything beyond enjoying great wine and great company.

I want to bring a bottle of white or sparkling wine, but I don’t want it to get warm sitting out on a counter someplace. What should I do?

Never fear: We’ll have a sommelier on hand to baby every one of those bottles, including chilling, decanting, and serving. So go ahead and bring that Franciacorta — it’ll be in good hands.

Does it have to be Italian wine?

Nope! Bring any wine you’re excited to open and share with fellow wine lovers. We’re lucky enough to live in one of the world’s great wine regions, and May is Oregon Wine Month, so feel free to bring something local, or something from farther afield. If you do end up bringing an Italian wine, though, you’ll get an extra ticket to the raffle :)

Will there be snacks?

Of course. There’s no Italian event without food :) Although we also recommend grabbing dinner in Lake Oswego afterwards!

What do ticket proceeds benefit?

All ticket proceeds benefit Portland Bologna Sister City Association’s mission to promote the strong ties between Portland, Oregon and Bologna, Italy through events, exchanges, exhibits, and outreach. We’re thrilled to finally be hosting a youth exchange cohort from Bologna this summer — our first in-person exchange since the pandemic — and gearing up to take a group of Portland high school students to Bologna next year.
