| The Portland-Bologna Sister City Association was founded in 2003 by a group of interested citizens in Portland with the intent to establish a formal relationship with Bologna, Italy. The Association is open to all the citizens of Portland and will enable and support a wide range of activities organized between the two cities including opportunities for cultural exchanges, trade missions, governmental and institutional partnerships and travel and overseas residencies. A few of the many things which our cities share include: transportation development, medical research, fashion, agriculture, food and wine, art and technology.
